Update April 27: Message center notification MC252942 says that OWA will get support for the send from proxy address feature in early May.
The early release of a useful new feature is always appreciated, even if I suspect that the feature is only released on the Exchange Online side at present with some client-side work still to come to make the task easier to perform. This is Microsoft 365 roadmap item 59437, which the roadmap says is due for release in June 2021. We recommend that every professional adds a delay to their email to avoid these kinds of situations. While this feature is by no means a secret, in our experience it is rarely used. The delay email feature adds a delay between clicking the send button and actually delivering the mail, allowing you enough time to cancel the message. Luckily, Microsoft Outlook includes a feature which can help you avoid these situations. Maybe you have sent the mail to the wrong John Smith, accidentally cc’d in the client you are discussing or just realised that the email was a bad idea in the first place. At some point or another, almost all of us have felt the pang of regret after hitting the send button without delay.
